Finally some sketches

This a quickie, below. My mate, Dave, drew a some shapes on my tablet, and I saw this image in them. I should post the shapes too.

Here's a quick morning sketch I was doing as a pact with the wonderful Sidne Sylvestri, with whom I have been lucky enough to work over the last year on  the Transformers design team at Atomic, here in Vancouver.

It was a good year of solid work with an amazing crew. I feel very lucky to have got to get to spend time working with a team like that. I hope to have the opportunity again.

That gig is now done, so there should be more posts over the coming weeks while I take a wee break to recharge the batteries.

Thanks to those of you who have been checking in from time to time, I hope to have some new stuff for you to ogle at soon.

A cool down sketch from last night.

Notepad doodles

Decided to do some sketching on some notepad paper that was handy. I haven't used markers in forever, so   anyhoo here are some efforts from last night.

Had some trouble trying to make this one work. I wanted cold looking ghosties, which didn't work so well, so thanks to the excellent Pascal Campion for helping me see the right path on this one.

American Duchess

While looking for research images for period costume for the 1790's I found a photo of Lauren. It was from her blog American Duchess. Lauren's blog is a fantastic resource for period clothing and her own work in making some of this clothing is stunning so I strongly encourage you to check it out.
