American Duchess

While looking for research images for period costume for the 1790's I found a photo of Lauren. It was from her blog American Duchess. Lauren's blog is a fantastic resource for period clothing and her own work in making some of this clothing is stunning so I strongly encourage you to check it out.

Battle of the Planets had to have been my favourite show when I was a kid. Ridd Sorensen has been doing some awesome pieces of the characters from this show. I thought I'd take a quick crack at Tiny. If this show had been developed these days, I think the 'ground and pound' style of fighting would be Tiny's bag.

Ya know, when I got my citizenship earlier this year, it really brought to mind that what I've drawn here is a daily reality for some of the kids in the world. I feel very lucky to live in a part of the world where this isn't a reality people, and kids especially, have to face.

When driving across Saskatchewan, there are the odd oil derricks and communications towers popped up. My brain, such as it is, wondered if perhaps they were way points for people to board enormous plains fish which would transport them across the vasty grassiness to their destinations.
